Doug,
In ArcGIS nine, ESRI has hidden a toolbar in ArcCatalog called ArcView
8.x Conversion Tools. This toolbar will allow even ArcView level users
to import several formats including E00/Interchange files. It basically
accesses the old Import71 routine that was with ArcView 3.x.

I believe you'll need ArcInfo Workstation installed, not just ArcInfo
Desktop (the 2nd pack of the two pack set)
ArcToolbox -> Coverage Tools -> To Coverage -> Import From Interchange
File
Then you'll have to export out to a shapefile or whatever else you want.

Subject: shrug-l: Import from Interchange File
I have downloaded a few ArcInfo Interchange files (.e00). I am using
ArcInfo 9.1 and tried using the Toolbox > Data Interoperability Tools >
Quick Import> and I get a window "Tool Not Licensed".
However the ability to import Interchange files was available in 8.3
Toolbox > Conversion Tools > Import to Coverage > Import from
Interchange File. It was very simple and easy...
Does any body know how to extract these files using 9.1?
Thank you for all your suggestions.
Judith Ippolito
