I know many of us use the DSMapbook plotting routine sample created by
ESRI. In general it works very well. But one thing that has been driving me
crazy and that is the local identifier frame. The local identifier frame
would change scale from one map to another or not center on the map that
was being printed especial for maps that were on the very edge of the grid.
I have got our programmers to fix that problem and thought other might find
it useful. So I have uploaded it to our FTP site at ftp://65.82.40.36
/ClientAccess/GIS/

Please feel free to download and use the routine. It is the same as the
ESRI sample but with the local identifier frame fixed. If you have already
installed the original ESRI DSMapbook routine just unzip the file over your
existing install and rerun the install.bat.

It has been a while since I've needed to use this, which must be why I
can't remember how.
I have labels that I need to make "stack" IF there are two (or more) words
in the label.

I am making a map of county boundaries, and I want the county names to
wrap.
So, for instance - "Billings" stays the same, "Golden Valley" becomes

Golden
Valley

Can you help?
I'm wracking my brain, I've tried the knowledge base already, I can't find
the answer.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but unfortunately - we don't have Maplex.
Yet.
They tell me it's coming...

I'm looking for how to write the script
"if there is a space, replace that with vbnewline"
Everytime I try, I get an error - I'm missing a piece!

If you're using the Maplex label engine, it will stack the words when it
decides that it is necessary to fit into a given space and won't stack
them if it doesn't think it's necessary.

No - I've used lower case before with vbnewline.
I need to write it so it will find a space in the label name.

I use vbnewline about a million times a day when combining labels
      Tampa
         FL
But how do I get it to work inside a single label name???
Yargh...my head!
