Lance,
Thanks for the support. I try to make sure I do not abuse my posting
privileges on the SHRUG list. I try to limit my class postings to no
more than one every couple of weeks. I further try to balance it out by
answering questions and posting useful information.

I agree that GIS classes should be posted. In fact, I believe that most
of the GIS courses posted to the group are from true SHRUGgers that
contribute regularly to the group. Tripp Corbin from Keck & Wood is a
example of a real SHRUG member that also happens to teach GIS courses.

Computer Tutors is just using the group for advertising, and off-topic
advertising at that.

That's why I suggest the old fashioned newsgroup revenge on off-topic
postings - flame them.

Well hold on a bit. If they were advertising courses that would count
towards GISP certification or continuing education for the GISP
certification, I, for one, would welcome them. It's just that we don't
want
to see the list server filled up with a bunch of non-GIS related courses
that
most of us could teach anyway.

I agree! SHRUG should not be free advertising. Can't the SHRUG listserv
admin
block them?
