shrug-l: raster catalog display of MrSids

I have seen similar problems in the past with other raster aerials. Some
were MrSID and some were TIFF or JPG. In the latter two cases, I changed the
colors using a photo editor, then brought it back into ArcMap. Photo editors
will not accept MrSID images, however.

Subject: shrug-l: raster catalog display of MrSids

I have an unmanaged raster catalog of the DRG quad images (sids). When
displayed in ArcMap the image colors are slightly different than the original
.sid image or for the image displayed through an old dbf image catalog (e.g.
mostly more saturated but also more purplish than blue in others, etc).
Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there anything I can do to force
the original colors? I have some unhappy users. Thanks!
Amy
