This will not make you feel any better about 9.2 Kimberly, probably hurt
more - but we have been using 9.2 for a few months now and export to PDF all
the time - no problems, works well with the DSmapbook too!

Have you tried the ESRI gold mine - the online user message board? You
can find it at http://forums.esri.com/forums.asp?c=93&s=1731#1731 You
can search by keyword or post your own question (protocol is to search
before putting up a question).
Does your project have much annotation, either as auto or manual labels?
Try turning off vector graphics and image compression - go to Export
Map/PDF/Options/Format tab.
Please let us know what solution you find or if it turns out to be a bug
in 9.2 - I do a lot of 200dpi PDF exporting out of 9.1 and would hate to
install 9.2 only to have the same issues you have.
