shrug-l: CAD Annotation

Shruggies,

Let me preface this with: I have hardly any experience with CAD, aside from
using it within GIS a little.

I have a CAD DWG with Points and Annotations for elevation.  What is the
correct methodology to assign the Annotations to the correct points, so I
have them as an attribute on the point layer?  There does not seem to be a
field to join the data easily on, and i can turn the annotation into points,
but it is then spatially off.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
