The statewide GIS coordinating committee that sponsored last year's GIS
Data Discovery workshop is doing it again this year.
The workshop has been scheduled for 9 AM - 5 PM July 9th, 2009 at the
State EOC in Tallahassee, FL.
The format of the workshop will be a little bit different this year -
the morning session will be much more "rapid fire" for presentation of
updated data or services, and speakers will be requested to stick to a
format, introducing any new data, services, or portals; quickly
describing the data; and providing URL's and contact information.
After lunch, we will focus specifically on post-event imagery and remote
sensing from 1 PM - 3 PM. And the day will conclude with application
and/or portal demonstrations until 5 PM.
These format changes are to make sure that the basic goal of the
workshop - sharing the latest and greatest in data development - is
accomplished quickly and effectively, while allowing some topics to be
explored in greater depth later in the day.
Please note that this meeting will be conducted using GoToWebinar, and
both presenters and attendees are encouraged to participate via the
webinar.
If you are interested in presenting, please let me know. Please also
feel free to pass around this invitation to others.
Registration is now open via FDEM's webpage at
