Hi Everyone-
I'm hoping you can save me a few hours of sifting through the
GPS Pathfinder "help" section..
I have a shape file that came to me in
NAD_1983_StatePlane_New_Mexico_Central_FIPS_3002_Feet. I re-projected
it to UTM NAD 83 using ESRI's "projections and transformations" tool.
Loaded the new file into a map, by itself-- works great everything is
copacetic-projecting fine. Import the same file into Pathfinder, set
both the projection options to UTM NAD 83 then try to convert it to a
Background file to load it onto our Trimble.. But when I try to convert
it the "coordinate system of selected files" is blank - no surprise, so
I rt click and it tells me that the System is Lat/long and the Datum is
WGS 84. I can't get in to change it, the button is not selectable.
When I check the file properties in both Pathfinder and ArcGIS it
thinks it's NAD 83. When I check it with my arcGIS map the points are
approx 5 m off. What gives?
