Geospatial Technology Research Associate (Non Tenure-Track)

 

Gainesville State College, soon to be the University of North Georgia, is
currently accepting applications for a full-time, professional staff
position beginning December 1st, 2012.  This is a benefit eligible position.
This position is located in the Lewis F. Rogers Institute for Environmental
& Spatial Analysis on the Gainesville campus of the College.  

 

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

 

·        Work directly with the IESA Director and Associate Director on
technical issues related to geospatial technologies

·        Provide technical support for students, faculty and staff

·        Provide tutoring services for students in the Applied Environmental
Spatial Analysis B.S. degree and the Certificate in Geographic Information
Science

·        Coordinate with the Information Technology Department regarding
software, hardware and network resources

·        Management and inventory of GST laboratory resources

·        Perform research and development on emerging geospatial and related
technologies

·        Work on occasional external projects, grants and contracts

·        Coordinate and/or teach GIS laboratory courses

·        Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Science, Applied
Environmental Spatial Analysis, or closely related field and a minimum of
two years professional or applied academic experience in geospatial
technology. The candidate should possess excellent computer skills,
excellent organizational skills, excellent customer service/support skills,
and project management skills. Preference will be given to individuals with
a Master’s degree in a related field and/or project management experience in
a professional or academic setting.

 

Salary:  Dependent upon qualifications and experience
