ArcGIS Desktop Basics is a one day course that provides a very basic
understanding of GIS, what it can do, and how it can be used. Students learn
the basic functions of a GIS, GIS Terminology, and how to create a simple
map. In course exercises, students work with ArcMap, an application within
ArcGIS Desktop, to visualize geographic data, create maps, and query a GIS
database.


When: January 8, 2014 - 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

 

Where: Norcross GA

 

Target Audience:

This beginner course is designed for those with little to no GIS experience
that which to begin gaining a better understanding of GIS and Esri's ArcGIS
Platform. It is perfect for those that might manage or work with GIS users
but that will not be using GIS regularly themselves. 


Prerequisites and recommendations:

No GIS experience required. This is a beginner level class. Students should
know how to use Windows-based software for basic file management and
browsing.

3.	Exploring the ArcMap application
4.	 Symbolizing features in a map
5.	Querying Data in ArcMap
6.	Creating a Map

ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 and 10.2 (Basic, Standard & Advanced)
