Subject: [Gis] Fwd: FIMT for ArcGIS 10 and 10.1

Please see message below from Sean Triplett, chair of the NWCG Geospatial
Subcommittee announcing the release of the Fire Incident Mapping Tool add-in
for both Arc 10.0 and 10.1 and where to go to download the tool.

Be advised, there may be issues with FIMT if the old extension was not
uninstalled before the upgrade to Arc 10.1. Here is a link on how to fix
that:

(how to uninstall FIMT 10.0 after you have installed (upgraded) ArcGIS 10.1.

The link has a video that explains the situation and how to run the .exe and
it should be watched first.

MT10.0afterArcGIS10.1wasInstalled/

The video there is rather large (166MB) and takes about 25 minutes to
download (on my connection here in the IMR office). (and the download just
now timed out on me after 15 minutes...)

I have not installed this new version of FIMT yet and there may be further
guidance soon on installing the FIMT symbols but I wanted to get this out
ASAP since fire season may soon be upon us (already is in CA).

All,

FIMT has been released for this year (finally). I want to thank the FIMT
CMB and John Varner for all their excellent work. The developers had a very
trying time working with several different configurations (Windows 7 vs XP,
ArcGIS 10 vs ArcGIS 10.1 etc.) but we feel they have cleaned up most bugs.
The new ESRI ADDIN files can be found at the following link:

I apologize for not having an updated Users Guide for this release of FIMT.
We are planning on developing an updated guide as resources allow.

Any issues or bugs should be directed to the FAMWEB helpdesk:
