Thanks all!
Special thanks for Luci Hawkins of City of Fort Walton Beach and
Steven Stauffer of Tallahassee - Leon County GIS

I never thought of going there. I just opened the map service property dialog and there are no such options.

This is truly a great group!

I am heading that way now.
Thanks

Good morning. Actually ArcCatalog does have all the tools required to create and manage cached services. In Catalog in the Catalog Tree establish a connection to your ArcGIS Server, if a connection does not already exist. Expand your connection and drill down to the output folder where your cached service lives. Select your cached service and right click to get the context menu. This menu gives you the option to Delete Cache. You can choose the Manage Tiles option which will open a geoprocessing tool which gives you granular access to update only a specific LOD, all LODs, specific areas of change or recreate all cache tiles. Also in Toolbox under Server Tools is a Caching toolbox with many geoprocessing tools for creating and managing cached services. Hope this helps.

Hello
I need to update/rebuild the cache data of several map services. I tried to replace the existing map services, but the cache data of old map services is still retained after the replacement. ArcGIS server manager or ArcCatalog does not have the options of deleting or removing or rebuilding map services caches. I am wondering if one can simply remove/delete the cache directories under the arcgisserver/root/arcgiscache for all those map services requiring cache updates. ESRI tech support is taking days to respond to support requests.

Can someone on the list shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance
