The FDOT Surveying and Mapping Office in Central Office (Tallahassee, FL) has a Mobile Survey Specialist II opening. The primary duties of this position include:

*       Performs advanced technical work on mobile remote sensing survey projects and checks the work of in-house associates and outside consultants.
*       Responds to customer requests and supports other Department teams on remote sensing survey topics.
*       Assists Mobile Surveying and Mapping team with quality assurance and archival of Department mobile survey imagery.
*       Assists Mobile Surveying and Mapping team with research and testing of emerging mobile survey technologies.
*       Works closely with consultants on State Topographic Mapping Support contract projects.
*       Assists with training of Department personnel and associates in mobile remote sensing survey principles, workflows, quality assurance, as well as the use of Department's hardware and software.
*       Research industry best practices for remote sensing survey applications and formally presents ideas to management that are innovative, efficient, and/or exceptional.
