Symposium</FONT></STRONG></DIV>

<DIV>The Geomatics Program of Troy University is partnering with the
Environmental Institute and the Department of Geology and Geography at Auburn
University to host the 3rd Annual GIS Symposium and Workshops. This year's
events are scheduled for October 31st and November 1st at the AU Ralph Draughon
Library and the Hotel at Auburn University Dixon Conference Center on the campus
of Auburn University. The symposium theme, "Managing our Geography," represents
the multitude of applications for GIS.</DIV>

Sessions cover a variety of topics including municipal applications, GIS &
Engineering, emergency and disaster planning, precision agriculture and much
more. </DIV>

<DIV>The keynote presentation will be by Bruce P. Baughman, Director of the
Alabama Emergency Management Agency. He is a 32-year veteran in emergency
management with an unparalleled background in disaster response operations. Mr.
Baughman's address, "Alabama EMA, Situational Awareness and Emergency Operations
in GIS" will draw from his vast experience having been involved in response and
recovery efforts for more than 100 presidentially-declared disasters and
emergencies, including the Oklahoma City bombing.</DIV>
