<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">The purpose of this position is to provide professional mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technical support to the County’s GIS user community in a manner which allows local government to maximize the investment in the GIS and Enterprise Database.</SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><B><U><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION</SPAN></U></B><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">: Plans, designs, implements, and maintains multiple custom GIS solutions which will maximize distribution and use of GIS data by staff as related to their specific job tasks and work requirements; consults with staff to determine optimal GIS solutions for each level of user within each Division; provides leadership and technical guidance for long term major projects as assigned; actively supports the coordination of GIS integration other related applications; maximize the County’s investment in technology by ensuring that concurrent systems, applications, and procedures are enhanced to allow for optimal integration of information; provides mapping and cartographic support to City/County staff and public; provides technical assistance to the GIS user community in use of supported GIS software; maintains current and up-to-date knowledge of technology and trends in the fields of mapping, GIS, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS); provides GPS computer programming and hardware support.</SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><B><U><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt">REQUIREMENTS:</SPAN></U></B><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt"> Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with an Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or a related field and five years of related work experience; <B>or an equivalent combination of training and experience. </B></SPAN></P>
