topology method is the easiest way I can think of. I would suggest asking ESRI
for a temporary license for ArcEditor so you can try out the topologies. If
this is something you plan to do on a regular basis, I would strongly
encourage you to upgrade to ArcEditor. The topology tools will save you a lot
of time that will more than pay for the upgrade if you maintain a GIS
database. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></P>

working on a project that involves selecting many line features (from a large
Streets shapefile) that are dead ends (dangels in GIS speak). Can anyone
help me think of a way to do this for a very large shapefile with hundreds of

the way- I received a suggestion to accomplish this by creating a topology
rule in a geodatabase to allow no dangles and then running a script to export
topology errors, but ArcView does not support the creating of topology rules.
