That's awesome. OpenLayers rocks - as does the entire open source
geospatial stack, i.e. MapServer, Postgres/PostGIS, OpenStreetMap,
etc. Great to see a fellow Floridian publishing a book on
OpenLayers!<br>

take a minute to call attention to a new book out by Erik
Hazzard, a young Tallahasean GIS developer over at FREAC.
Published through Packt, the book is on OpenLayers, a
javascript based free and open source web mapping
framework. It’s similar to the ArcGIS JavaScript API,
though it supports a wider range of mapping backends, and I
believe it is more fully featured. It communicates readily
with ArcGIS products, but also MapServer, GeoServer, WMS
and WFS services, etc. Here’s one particularly impressive
example of an OpenLayers map: <a moz-do-not-send="true"
