software viewer recommendations?

Greetings to all, from frigid Reno, NV (14 degrees at 8
a.m.).

I'm excited to have my first chance to work with some
terrestrial LiDAR and am looking for input on software for viewing and
manipulating the data. This is data from a tripod mounted laser scanner
that was set up on several stations to capture a rocky landscape of about 7
acres that includes two hills and some man-made features. Our
subcontractor is supplying a rendered fly-through, ground surface contours and
some sort of point file.

If any of my fellow SHRUGEES
have worked with this type of data I'd greatly appreciate any
recommendations. The man-made features of interest on the landscape
require a full 3D environment - they have overhangs and undercuts (i.e. a
given x,y coordinate can have more than one z value).

Thanks and best wishes to all for a wonderful
holiday.

Jay Johnson
