Her discussion will cover how Bibb County GIS has evolved over the past few years by integrating the Local Government Information Model as a foundation and guide. Further, Angela will discuss challenges local governments and businesses face while trying to provide more transparency, information and support for the organization and public at large with fewer resources including personnel, training and funding.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><i>Speaker Bio:</i> Angela Brooks received a BS in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Information Systems from Georgia College and State University. Upon graduation, she was employed by Bibb County as a mainframe IBM CICS Assembler/COBOL programmer for eleven years. For the next fifteen years, she worked managing the family business and raising her children. In 2009, she returned to work for the Bibb County IR department as a programmer and transitioned into GIS in 2010. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><i><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>Don’t forget the Georgia Geospatial Conference in Athens on Oct 16 -18, hosted by GA URISA, GITA Southeast and SAMSOG.
