The responsibilities of this position are to develop and maintain the geographic information systems (GIS) databases, coverage’s and linkages to various databases, as well as extensive GPS duties, including collecting infrastructure features using global positioning system (GPS) technology and to assist in providing a digital model of the City’s infrastructure using GIS/GPS technology. Other duties are to create maps using Esri ArcGIS software; assist the GIS Coordinator with the manipulation, storage, and retrieval of information in the GIS, and assisting with the designs, developing and editing the GIS spatial and tabular database. Extensive background knowledge of computer systems and servers recommended. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'>Requirements include Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Civil Engineering, or related field; supplemented by at least one year’s experience in the GIS field involving GPS training, computer aided drafting, surveying and / or public utility operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
