<div>We will be joined by Jared Granberry, Sr. GIS Analyst with the City of Houston’s Office of Emergency Management. He will be presenting on the Memorial Day flooding event the City of Houston encountered this past Spring and discuss how GIS was used to provide
situational awareness, perform damage assessment and provide data to City policy and decision makers.</div>

<div>A brief synopsis of his presentation is below:</div>
<div><b>Memorial Day Flooding Event: GIS for damage assessment and situational awareness</b>.</div>
<div>On May 25th to May 27th, the City of Houston and surrounding areas experienced a 100 year rain fall event, resulting in record flooding along all the major watersheds, with most of the cresting out of their banks and flooding streets, highways and residences.
There were seven fatalities and in excess of 6,300 homes flooded in the region. Damage estimates were in excess of $41 million for City of Houston assets.</div>
