Operates GIS and/or engineering programs on a computer workstation, including digitizing plat data in ArcGIS Desktop Advanced, drafting engineering design drawings and plans, performing routine drafting to create and correct tax maps, and creating and maintaining SharePoint databases. Performs a variety of routine cartography duties, and maintains map files as necessary, including using manual techniques to create and correct maps, plats, plans, documents and other graphic and non-graphic materials; verifying data; performing quality control checks to ensure accurate data conversion; verifying and calculating distances, areas, curves, boundary lines, and locations of properties; and creating property identification numbers for all County parcels. Provides technical clerical support services to departments as required, including supplying information on recorded plats and deeds to assist assessors in property valuations. Performs various title abstracting duties, including researching and retrieving plats, legal documents, and records as required. Participates in the development, updating, maintenance, and expansion of the GIS database. Performs directly related work as required. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=Default><span style='font-size:11.5pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=Default><b><span style='font-size:11.5pt'>Minimum Qualifications:</span></b><span style='font-size:11.5pt'> Associate’s Degree in Drafting, GIS or related field; and two years’ experience in automated mapping, civil engineering, and/or appraisal technology experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Must possess knowledge of GPS equipment and surveying techniques and terminology. Must possess knowledge of recording and tax procedures. Must possess knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of drafting and design. Must possess knowledge of basic mathematics, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to make accurate and legible drawings in relation to drafting and design and to efficiently operate the GIS, ArcGIS and/or computer-aided drafting techniques. Ability to research and retrieve information from maps, plats, deeds and other public documents.
