<p class="MsoNormal">One of the premiere emergency management/GIS events in the nation is coming to the southeast this fall.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">National Alliance for Public Safety GIS Foundation, Esri, and other partners are bringing the 2017 National Geospatial Preparedness Summit (NGPS) this August 7-9 to the University of Alabama.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#2A2A2A;background:white">The National Geospatial Preparedness Summit (NGPS) brings together public safety practitioners and GIS responders – to build skills in developing and implementing GIS-based decision support tools,
 share best practices, build peer relationships, and validate skills and capabilities through workshops and exercises.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span></span>The NGPS is the Nation's only preparedness summit dedicated to advancing the use of location-enabled
 decision support technology & data. It will feature new and expanded technical and operational hands-on training, prominent keynote speakers, site visits, and a functional exercise.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">There is no cost for local, state, tribal, and Federal government participants. Breakfast and lunch is provided all days, along with hosted networking events and evening receptions.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Opportunities are still available to submit an abstract for a potential speaking role, map gallery submissions, and travel scholarship applications.<o:p></o:p></p>
