</span><br>
<span style="font-family:Times New Roman,serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Every state maintained facility is sectioned off into unique maintenance sections. These sections are the basis for maintenance activities e.g. pothole repair, crack sealing, striping,
guardrail placement, therefore it is in the departments best interest to have an accurate accounting thereof. </span></span><br>
<span style="font-family:Times New Roman,serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The spatial representation of the sections is a product of a legacy system and does not represent the sections to the level of accuracy needed by the department. Therefore, GDOT
is going to review and correct the location of the approximately 5,500 maintenance sections for the entire 19,000 mile state route system.</span></span><br>
<span style="font-family:Times New Roman,serif"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">There will be a week of instruction/familiarization, a week of “nearby instruction” - where resources will be directly available for questions and assistance, followed by approximately
23 weeks of straight production.</span></span><br>
