We have amended the Emergency Final Order for Hurricane Charley Clean =
Up.
Specifically, it adds or clarifies guidance on:
1. Temporary staging areas for debris
2. Open burning of debris
3. Extension of time to comply with specified deadlines

DCA has also issued a "Mission Assignment" suspending permit and =
variance
time clocks for 60 days in South District, Southwest District, and =
Central
District.

Many of you have been wondering if DEP's annual Compliance & Enforcement
Conference is still on. The answer is yes! It's my hope that those of =

working hard on clean up operations will be able to join us for part of =

conference as a result of rotational work schedules developed by your
supervisors. Please see your supervisor regarding attendance.

Finally, I want to express my deep appreciation and respect for the hard =
work
you've done during the last week to assist the victims of Hurricane =
Charley.
Your efforts have protected the health and well-being of Florida =
citizens and
our environment. In many cases, you've provided great public service =
while
facing significant challenges yourself at home as a result of hurricane
damage. I have the highest regard for your professionalism under such
circumstances. Thank you also to those of you who were ready to go
immediately into the affected areas to provide support and backup to =
fellow
