FYI...

Note: the training center has many other online training courses.

Household Hazardous Waste Training Online

Unless your facility has the capacity for a Level-A response to a spill, =
and
most don't, the current 40-hour Hazwoper training is overkill for most =
HHW
staff. But, on the other hand, the existing 24-hour awareness training
usually leaves staff under-trained. That is why the Environmental =
Training
Center at Kirkwood Community College (Iowa) has developed an
Internet-assisted course specifically for HHW staff. The program =
manager for
this course comes from the solid waste field and developed a =
comprehensive
HHW program while working in Maryland. Developing this class was seen as =
much
as a service for fellow employees in the field as filling a void in =
safety
training.

The class is 18 hours of training on the Internet and six hours =
job-specific
hands-on training with a local partner around the nation. This saves you =
time
and money while getting the appropriate training needed. A sample of =
this
type of training is available at www.et-online.org as well as a listing =
of
training providers in your area.
