Dear SC3 Leads -

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.

This year, we again have funding for Schools Chemical Cleanout Campaign work!
This continued funding is due to a great extent to the terrific work you all
have being doing on addressing this important issue.

Candidates should apply for grants under the solicitation described below -
which is a broad RCC solicitation. SC3 work should fit under the terms of
the solicitation. Initial proposals are due February 6, 2006. Final
proposals are due on March 22nd.

If you know of potential grantees please let them know about this opportunity
as soon as possible. Please spread the word so that we get terrific
candidate programs for the competition. Don't be fooled by the reference to
only certain regions - grantees in any region can apply to headquarters as
long as they meet the stated criteria.

If you have any questions, please contact me by e-mail or telephone and I'll
do what I can to address your concerns!

On another note, expect an e-mail from me shortly with an update of all the
happenings in the SC3 program! Thanks again for your continue
excellence in protecting children, - K

MISWD has posted a solicitation for assistance agreements to support the RCC
(Resource Conservation Challenge). Since EPA must receive initial proposals
by February 6, we would appreciate your help in quickly getting the word out
to potential grantees. (Final proposals will be due March 22.) Below is a
brief description of the scope of work of the solicitation. Feel free to
contact me for more information at taylor.judy at epa.gov or 703-308-7277.
Thank you for your assistance in getting the word out.

EPA's Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response (OSWER) and EPA Regions 2,
3, 6 and 7 are soliciting proposals for grants that will stimulate solid
waste reduction and recycling projects to increase the national recycling
rate from 30% to 35% by 2008, reduce and recycle industrial byproducts
(including construction and demolition debris), reduce the amount of
electronic waste going to landfills and/or incinerators, and reduce the
amount of priority chemicals found in waste streams. EPA must receive
initial proposals by February 6, and final proposals will be due March 22.
The funding opportunity number is EPA-OSWER-OSW-06-04. The full
solicitation can be accessed either on
http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/conserve/resources/06-04.pdf or on
www.grants.gov. Non-profit organizations, including governmental entities,
may apply.
