I want to emphasize the importance of this class to all HHW and SQG Program
Coordinators and encourage you to attend this training. In RCRA there is a
DOT training requirement for hazardous materials (49 CFR Part 172, Subpart H
according to McCoy's RCRA Unraveled pg 273 2006 edition or on pg 265 under
6.6.3.8 for the 2005 edition) for staff signing off on manifests. For the
SQG inspector DOT training compliments RCRA training.

We have 17 currently registered and have room for an additional 8 persons.
Again this is a great course and I encourage you to attend.

You can register for this training at:

DOT Training Friday May 4, 8-12noon

Trainer: Major Ken Carr, FDOT

This half-day class is an overview of the U.S. DOT hazardous materials
transportation regulations. Information regarding hazardous materials
classifications, communication standards (shipping papers, placards,
markings, etc.) and packing requirements as they apply to shippers and
transporters will be provided. The newest homeland security requirements will
be covered along with a mock U.S. DOT roadside inspection.
