Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County

Title: Supervisor - Hazardous Waste Services
Salary Range:  $49,129 - $88,857
Depends on Skills/Experience
 
Summary of Job
A specialized supervisory position managing hazardous materials and
directing staff members. Engaged in activities related to the
collection, packaging and disposal of hazardous materials received from
households and small businesses. The position assists with the operation
of all programs administered by the Hazardous Waste Services section.
Performs inspections of facilities, order supplies, and maintain
equipment and instruments. Respond to spills and incidents involving
hazardous materials intercepted in solid waste stream at Authority
facilities. Responsible for profiling waste streams, lab packing and
manifesting shipments. 
 
Requirements
Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an accredited college or
university; or three to four years related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Ability to obtain Florida Operator License Class B with hazardous
materials endorsement, clean driving record. DOT certified driver. OSHA
40-hour hazardous materials site worker. Spill and emergency response.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as
respirators and ability to perform strenuous activity while wearing PPE.
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferred.
