FYI...info on the use of drum top crushers; disposal of crushed lamps in
landfills prohibited. Please be aware of this when you come across a drum top
crusher during your inspections. Thanks. Glen

Subject: drum top crusher for fluorescent lamps letter to mfrs

Tim,
I have gotten more than one report of users of drum top crushers being told
that the crushed lamps can be landfilled. We sent the three major
manufacturers a letter about this same concern in 2002. Attached are letters
to the three manufacturers that are going out today.

One difference you may notice is that two of the company names have changed.
Dextrite was bought by Quatrex Environmental Inc. out of Canada this summer
and PestWest took over sales of the device previously sold under the company
name Hazardous Waste Handlers, Inc.
