 Now Seeking Chapter Board Nominations

Dear NAHMMA Florida Chapter Member:
If you have a passion for hazardous materials management, like making things happen, and love sharing your opinions, then you should consider running for a position on the NAHMMA Florida Chapter Board! We are always looking for new faces (and voices for those conference calls) that are dedicated to the HHW and SQG Programs. To run you simply need to currently be a NAHMMA member and send me a short bio with your experience and a statement on how you feel you can contribute to the NAHMMA organization. You can nominate yourself or encourage someone else to run. Please submit nominations to me no later than the end of business day Friday, April 13th.

This year we have four of those positions expiring. Each position is a 3-year term and if elected the individual(s) would begin their term at the annual workshop on May 8, 2012

The nine Chapter Board members, elected by the General Membership (You!), conduct the business of the Florida Chapter. In addition, at our first meeting which will be held at the annual HHW/SQG Conference in Gainesville on Tuesday, May 8th , the Board elects four of it's members as Officers holding the titles of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Together the four Officers and five other Board members assist with various chapter committees such as the workshop planning, training, membership and web.

As a Board member you will be expected to participate in Regular board meetings (generally via conference call), serve on at least one Committee, and contribute your expertise wherever necessary. Nominees that are not elected are encouraged to join one of the Chapters Committees.

I’ve personally been on the NAHMMA Executive Committee for 3 years now and enjoy helping with the training curriculum for the annual HHW/SQG Workshop and getting to know the hard working staff “on the other side”, that is HHW.

Thank you for your consideration! Please remember to respond with your bio no later than Friday, April 13th.
