Jeff,

Duval County has badges but does not wear them as part of a uniform. In fact, we don't really have a uniform. We can purchase shirts with City logos on our own, but they are not furnished. The badges can be shown as part of the identification process when an inspector arrives at a facility but is really used only when the inspector feels it may be a problem inspection. We have found that it puts a lot of people on edge when they see the badge and we do not have enforcement capabilities as a County, so it doesn't carry much weight.

I have been task to ask other counties, as to whether or not anyone carries/wears a badge, as part of your uniform.

If you do where a badge, please indicate whether or not you have enforcement capabilities.

Thanks
