Subject: Release of "RCRA's Critical Mission & the Path Forward"

Dear ASTSWMO Colleagues,

It is with pleasure I inform you that the document, RCRA's Critical Mission & the Path Forward, is now posted on the EPA's Web site, http://www.epa.gov/epawaste/inforesources/pubs/cnsrv_resrcs.htm. This document describes the RCRA program, highlighting its past accomplishments while emphasizing its future challenges. It communicates RCRA's benefits and underscores the role the RCRA program continues to play in protecting communities, restoring land and conserving resources. The document also highlights the central role that the States play in implementing the RCRA program.

The document is intended to facilitate discussion with environmental policy makers. It can also be used to introduce other stakeholders to our program and for general communications purposes. By working together to publicize messages from the document, ORCR believes we will collectively promote a greater understanding of and appreciation for the RCRA program's contributions to our nation's environment and public health.

This document was significantly improved as a result of your input, and we want to thank you for your collaboration.

Sincerely,

Barnes Johnson
