Dear NAHMMA Members,

The 2015 NAHMMA Workshop Planning Committee hopes you were able to attend the recent Florida Chapter Workshop in beautiful Sarasota County.

We would greatly appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback of the workshop by completing the online survey. Your feedback is very valuable to us to continue to develop relevant trainings and sessions for the 2016 workshop in Jacksonville.

Some highlights of the workshop included: DOT Hazmat, Chemistry for Non-Chemists, New SQG Inspector Training and 8-hour Hazwoper Refresher from our excellent trainers.

The tour included the Mote Aquarium, Tervis Tumbler and Sarasota's HHW Facility.

Our attendees were enlightened during the general sessions on topics such as e-cigarettes and our HHW and SQG Programs working together. The keynote speaker, Tim Townsend, Ph.D., had an excellent presentation that touched on electronics disposal in landfills, the toxic characteristic leaching test and an innovative use for waste-to-energy ash.

The general sessions in the SQG and HHW program sparked discussion in management of CRT-type electronics, interesting case studies and discipline training for SQG and HHW Programs.

We also had great interaction with our exhibitors and sponsors through the Exhibitor Reception, Amazing Exhibitor Race and Best Exhibitor Award.

And last, but certainly not least, the Hazardous Waste Olympic competition, brought out a fierce competition with the "Duct Tape" team taking the Gold medal.

We sincerely hope you enjoyed the workshop and are making plans to attend the 2016 NAHMMA Florida Chapter Workshop in Jacksonville.

Sincerely,

Andrea L. Stermer
President, NAHMMA Florida Chapter
