Chris,
Please pass along my thanks to all the FL NAHMMA members, HHW and SQG alike. It has been a great ride both professionally and personally. It is a privilege to be associated with NAHMMA and all the FL members. I carry many fond memories with me.
And, to Earlene, wherever she may be, thanks for not mentioning my “creative interpretations” of Olympic rules as Team Mango was out there just trying to be a competitor worthy of the company of the other Olympians on the sacred field of competition. I was fortunate to be a Mango as the team won a few Gold Medals and a Bronze along the way!! Thanks Rita, Cari, Richard and Brian for making me look I was actually an athlete!
And I still think Team Mango wuz robbed in the just ended Olympics. Second place for Team Mango? That’s just wrong on so many levels.
Thank all of you for all you do out there, warm regards, farewell and . . . see ya around!!
Jack

Jack Price: The Man, The Myth, The Legend
By Earlene, Your On Scene Reporter
(Drowning her sorrows in Bolivia drinking Al Gomez's homemade Mojitos while reflecting on Jack's departure from Olympic Competition)
As we say goodbye to Jack Price this reporter must take you back in time:
Flashback to Daytona Beach, May 2008: Cari Walz, and Rita Perini try on some new mango colored uniforms complete with tutus for their first attempt at Olympic Gold as a team, when Cari asks Rita if Jack is going to be on their team. Just a year prior in Fort Walton Beach Jack had unseeded Cari as the reigning Olympic Gold Medalist. Now the two could potentially be on the same team in the newly proposed team competition developed by the Florida Olympic Committee. Would the two mesh or would they be like oil and water??? Rita says it's a possibility since he's the reigning champion. Cari then says she's heard so many legends of Jack be nimble, Jack be quick; that he took on an entire field of Olympians one year by himself in team relay competition running every leg of the relay; he cannot be defeated, and has lightning fast reflexes. Cari continues that Jack could be anywhere, at anyplace, and at anytime. They soon realize that he is right behind them.......wearing a Team Mango uniform. They have the answer to their question standing before them...... and sports history is set in motion as Team Mango becomes the team to reckon with for years to come.
I must admit that no other athlete could make this reporter swoon anymore than the sight of Jack donning a tutu with those hairy masculine legs of his. When this reporter thinks of all the Olympic events that she has covered Jack stands out as the epitome of a world class athlete.
Now, being perfectly transparent with my readers, I must confess that I have enjoyed a special relationship with the man I can only describe as The Man, The Myth, The Legend. The two of us have become inseparable and I am deeply saddened at his retirement from Olympic competition. There will never be another Jack in my life, but I have found consolation in the following words:
"If someone comes into your life and has a positive impact on you, be thankful that your paths crossed. And even if they can't stay for some reason, be thankful that they somehow made you happy, even if it was for a short while."
Good bye Jack........I will miss you Mi Amor
Al, my love, would you make me another Mojito?
But, in all seriousness, NAHMMA Florida Chapter would like to express their gratitude for all the support that Jack has provided to the hazardous waste community for over 20 years. His extensive knowledge and charismatic personality will be sorely missed by all of us.
P.S - Gingerbread man is on a mission to locate and mark the interior of your new car Jack!! :)
