This year we have three committee members whose terms are expiring, namely Chris Gilbert (Alachua County), Glen Perrigan (FDEP), and Andrea Stermer (Hillsborough County). <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>If you like sharing your opinions, enjoy making things happen and have a passion for hazardous materials management, then you should consider running for a position on the Executive Committee this year! We are always looking for new faces that are dedicated to the HHW and SQG Programs. To run, you simply need to be a current Florida NAHMMA member and send a short bio with your experience and a statement on how you feel you can contribute to the NAHMMA organization. <b><u>The deadline to submit a nomination is by the end of business day Friday, April 10th.<o:p></o:p></u></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><u><o:p><span style='text-decoration:none'> </span></o:p></u></b></p><p class=MsoNormal>NAHMMA is a professional membership organization dedicated to pollution prevention and reducing the hazardous constituents entering municipal waste streams from households, small businesses and other entities. NAHMMA chapters are organized to provide a local forum for NAHMMA members facilitating peer-group interaction and exchange of ideas and information relating to hazardous materials management.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Voting will be done electronically by Survey Monkey. The new executive committee voted in by the membership will be announced at the annual workshop in Sarasota on May 12, 2015. The terms of the President (one year), Vice President (one year), Treasurer (two year), and Secretary (two year) positions will be reviewed and voted upon by the new Executive Committee in the first Executive Committee that will also take place at the workshop on May 12th. Regular board meetings are held as needed via conference call.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I have had the pleasure of being a member of the NAHMMA Executive Committee for 7 years and am continually impressed on how much is accomplished in our chapter under the guidance of the Executive Committee. This is a group of people whose makeup changes every year but continually sets goals and ensures that they are met with the sole intent on improving what our NAHMMA Chapter can provide to its membership.
