shrug-l: web-classes based on open-source GIS software

We are putting the final touches on the web-classes based on open-source GIS

The site is

(click on the (login) in upper right corner to create a new student account)

The classes start Sept 17, 2007 and are free to anyone

The software courses will cover

DIVA GIS (Free Software)
MapWindow GIS (Free Open-Source Software)
Quantum GIS (Free Open-Source Software)
uDig GIS (Free Open-Source Software)
Basin 4 (the new EPA Watershed software)
AccuGlobe 2007 (Commercial but still free)

College Textbooks will be available shortly for MapWindow and Basin 4. The
textbooks are not required for the on-line course but could be used in a
college classroom for an in-house course.
