GIS Users,

We have solved this issue. Here's the short answer:

Problem: ArcGIS 8.1.2 ArcMap would not show the attribute table =
(right-click
the layer and select "Open Attribute Table" from the context menu).

Environment: WinNT 4.0 SP6, ArcGIS 8.1.2

Solution: Create a new user profile. (We renamed the old profile =
forcing the
creation of a new profile on the next login. It appeared to be a =
graphics
card setting the user profile. We think the table was being opened, but
outside the viewing area of the monitor.)

For a full discussion of the issue and our diagnostics, check the link =
to the
forum that Janis provided below.

Subject: gis-l: tables not displaying

		Hello, everyone,
		Here's the scenario:
When right clicking to open a table in ArcMap, no table opens
(or maybe it does, but it's not in the visible portion of the monitor). =
The
table can be seen fine in ArcCatalog and can be edited in ArcView 3.2a =
and
can be seen on other computers.

Any ideas about this problem? It's exactly as described in
the discussion forum article link below.=20

It's as though the table is being opened but is showing up
outside the viewing area of the monitor (this used to happen sometimes =
with
the directory tree in ArcCatalog). The normal.mxt was renamed to force =
it to
recreate one, but no luck. If you have any ideas about what to try =
other
than reinstalling the software, please let us know. =20
		Thank You,
