>From DWRM --

NHD - The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) has been modified for Florida
and added to ArcSDE (and is available through database connections or through
DataMiner). Please note that ArcView 3.2a does not support the full features
of NHD.

Quick Zoom - DWRM/WRMITS has recently enhanced QuickZoom for ArcGIS, and will
be adding the ability to zoom to many of the water features in the National
Hydrography Dataset.

ImageTools - DWRM/WRMITS has recently enhanced ImageTools to facilitate use
of file based imagery for mobile GIS users. The new enhancements include
adding the 2004 Aerials Photos to the list of available imagery and tools to
facilitate copying imagery from the view for use in mobile applications
(rather than "clipping" it with the Export Data to ArcPad Tool, which often
results in lower quality imagery data for the field). Please note that
non-mobile users should continue to use imagery via DataMiner (which gets the
data from ArcIMS and is MUCH faster than ImageTools).

Map Direct - Please pass the word about Map Direct to your casual,
occasional, and non GIS users. Map Direct is a general purpose geospatial
data browser that features over 100 layers and supports point-based buffer
analysis. It's a very quick and easy way to browse our geospatial data
without having to install and learn the fairly complex GIS software. Check
it out at http://gisweb.dep.state.fl.us/wrm/mapdirect.

>From BIS/GIS --

Training - CompUSA is offering Introduction to ArcGIS I and Introduction to
ArcGIS II in the first quarter of 2006. Check out their offerings at

	http://www.compusa.com/training/schedules/sch504.htm

Training - The ESRI Southeast User Group conference will also be offering
some training. Check out their offerings at

	http://www.esri.com/events/serug/training.html

Data Catalog - The replacement for DataMiner is coming soon. To get a sneak
preview, review a paper presented at the ESRI International Users Conference
and the SHRUG GIS Workshop at

	http://depnet/gis/services/files/p2404.doc

Layer Update Procedure - We have implemented a new procedure for updating
layers. In order to not surprise users, we are placing the new layers in a
test environment so users can examine layer prior to production. We
typically wait a month to make the change, however in some cases, at the
request of the data steward, we may make the changes more rapidly. All the
changes are announced in a GIS-L posting, so please watch for these postings.
