gis-l: Survey for ArcPad Mobile GIS Users

Please excuse this posting to both GIS-L and ArcPad-L, but I want to make
sure this email reaches all GIS users within the Department who use ArcPad,
ESRI's mobile mapping software.

Within the Department, numerous programs (Parks, Beaches, Mines, districts,
and many more) are using ArcPad. If you are not using ArcPad, you may ignore
this message.

ArcPad 7.0 has just been released, introducing enhanced performance and new
features. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like ArcPad 6 users will be offered
a opportunity to upgrade to ArcPad 7, rather, we will have to purchase new,
full price ArcPad 7.0 licenses.

In an effort to deal with ESRI, I would like to survey our GIS community for
existing licenses of ArcPad...if you are a user of ArcPad (no matter your
division or program), can you please take a few minutes and update this
spreadsheet \\tlh_ptt1\all_common\ArcPad\licenses.xls with information for
your ArcPad licenses.

If we can demonstrate the number of copies we are likely to upgrade, I am
hoping we can work with ESRI to receive a better deal upgrading ArcPad.

Everyone should have read/write access to the spreadsheet, but if you'd just
like to drop me an email with the information, that would be fine too.

Thanks,
Richard Butgereit
