GIS Users,

The following layer has been inserted in ArcSDE/DataMiner:

ArcSDE Name - BASE.NWFWMD_SSURGO
DataMiner Name - SSURGO Soils (NWFWMD)
This coverage of 1:24,000 detailed soils from the United States Department of
Agriculture/Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA/NRCS) soil survey
maps encompasses the following counties: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa,
Gulf, Bay, Franklin, Walton, Wakulla, Washington, Holmes, Jefferson, Leon,
Calhoun and Jackson. These counties represent the boundaries of the Northwest
Florida Water Management District. There are two counties missing that do not
have spatial data available from the UDSA/NRCS: Liberty and Gadsden.
This layer is available via the Boundaries tab in DataMiner.
Inclusion of this layer finalizes statewide availablity of SSURGO soils and
represents a remarkable achievement. Tammy Crew of the Division of Water
Resource Management is to be highly commended for this accomplishment.

Thanks,

BIS/GIS Section
