gis-l: ***New Brownfield Layers in DataCatalog/DataMiner***

GIS Users,
The following are two new Brownfield layers introduced in ArcSDE, DataCatalog
and DataMiner:

ArcSDE Name: DEP.BROWNFIELD_AREAS_2007
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name: Brownfield Areas

ArcSDE Name: DEP.BROWNFIELD_SITES_BSRAS_2007
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name: Brownfield Sites with Executed BSRA's

In order to streamline productivity and updates to the Brownfields spatial
data layer, several changes were proposed by the Brownfields program area,
and two new spatial data layers were created to incorporate those changes.
These changes included:

*	Removing the point representation so that only the polygon layer is
maintained by program staff; 
*	Adding new columns that would show the local government resolution
number along with the date the resolution was passed;
*	In the BSRA layer, adding new columns that would show the date the
BSRA was executed along with the date the SRCO was issued for sites where
cleanup is complete;
*	Adding the X Coordinate and Y Coordinate columns to the polygon layer
to allow points to be rendered from a single source;
*	Renaming columns to include a logical break in the column names using
an underscore character; and finally
*	Renaming columns to match the naming conventions used in the cross
referenced spatial data layers.
		 
These layers will be visible under the "Environmental Monitoring and
Modeling" and "Planning and Development" categories in DataCatalog and will
be under the "DWM" tab in DataMiner. These new layers will serve as
replacement layers for the older Brownfield layers which will be deprecated
from DataCatalog/DataMiner on January 15th 2008. 

The layers to be deprecated are as follows:
ArcSDE Name: DEP.BROWNFIELDS_POINTS
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name: Brownfield Area Centroids

ArcSDE Name: DEP.BROWNFIELDS_AREAS
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name: Brownfield Area Polygons

ArcSDE Name: DEP.BROWNFIELDS_SITES_BSRAS_POINTS
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name: Brownfield Sites with Executed BSRAs (points)

ArcSDE Name: DEP.BROWNFIELDS_SITES_BSRAS_AREAS
DataCatalog/DataMiner Name: Brownfield Sites with Executed BSRAs (areas)
