GIS users,

Good news - DEP was able to negotiate an Enterprise License Agreement with
ESRI which entitles us to unlimited usage of ArcInfo, ArcView, and most
extensions while on the DEP network! ESRI just sent us the first batch of
licenses, and we now have 100 ArcView and 50 ArcInfo licenses available for
immediate use!

What this will mean:

1. We have started by adding more licenses of ArcInfo and ArcView to
the license manager. We would like to reduce and potentially eliminate
license denials. We will have as many on-network licenses as we need for
ArcGIS Desktop. Since a license should always be available, you should no
longer need to leave ArcGIS running all the time or have to launch it early
in the morning just to checkout a license. To reduce network traffic and
server strain, only use the software when you need it. If we run out of
licenses in the future, we will obtain more from ESRI.

2. We will have unlimited use of our current extensions except for
Survey Analyst, which will remain at 3. We will be adding the ArcGIS
Schematics
(http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/extensions/schematics/index.html) and
PLTS for ArcGIS
(http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/extensions/plts/index.html) extensions
in the coming weeks.

Enjoy! Special thanks to those Divisions who were able to contribute funding
to make this a reality!
