gis-l: Florida NHD Updated in DataMiner

GIS Users,

The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) was recently updated in the GIS library and will be updated shortly in MapDirect.
DataMiner Name - Florida NHD

This version represents more than 58,000 edits by the FDEP NHD editors to the database since April 2015.  Edits took place in the following subbasins:
Alafia

Everglades

Lower Suwannee

Big Cypress Swamp

Florida Bay-Florida Keys

Pensacola Bay

Blackwater

Lake Okeechobee

St. Andrew-St. Joseph Bays

Crystal-Pithlachascotee

Lower Choctawhatchee

St. Marys

Econfina-Steinhatchee

Lower Ochlockonee

Upper St. Johns


Enhanced Labelling:
In the latest symbology layer, NHD24K labels for Flowline, Areas and Waterbodies were grouped by scale and size. These Label Classes are fully customizable from the feature class properties 'labels' tab if adjustments are needed. By categorizing the labels, only the largest features are labelled when zoomed out to a very small scale.  As you zoom closer in, the labels of the smaller lakes, bays and other features appear.

The latest update is a snapshot of the federal NHD layer as of October 22, 2015.
