Good afternoon GIS Users!

We are ready to release ArcGIS desktop 10.3.1. With this release, we are changing the way approved GIS users access the software. Please refer to the attached chart for an overview. Approved users can go directly to the red link below to access the upgrade.

Over the past year, some staff and contractors have accessed the software install folder and have used the software without being an approved user in their program area. When OTIS has to perform upgrades, share information via the GIS_L, during cost allocation time or when we get service desk requests tied to errors from unsupported versions, this becomes an issue. Now the software is stored in a folder and access to that folder is tied to the approved GIS user list, maintained by GIS Coordinators in SharePoint.

Over the past week, the program area GIS coordinators have installed and used 10.3.1, with good results. Any user that is not on the approved list (see link in graphic attached) will not have access to the software upgrade and will need to work through their coordinators<https://floridadep.sharepoint.com/otis/gis/_layouts/15/WopiFrame.aspx?sourcedoc=%7bC0A4D046-BF2B-4C47-A6FE-19ED1807D85E%7d&file=Coordinators_winter2015.xlsx&action=default>, to get approved. We understand that December is popular for leave and field work, but please upgrade to 10.3.1 as soon as possible.

If you currently have a version of ArcGIS desktop 10+, the upgrade to 10.3.1<https://floridadep.sharepoint.com/otis/gis/_layouts/15/WopiFrame.aspx?sourcedoc=%7bB159D19F-BF6F-4F99-9639-E4D73B9C160B%7d&file=INSTALL_10.3.1.ppsx&action=default> will take less than 20 minutes. If you have any questions about the approved user list or the upgrade, please submit a service desk ticket and the GIS help desk will contact you shortly.

Thank you and stay tuned for next month's release of ArcGIS Pro version 1.2.
