The fellow who sent this email to me worked with me in several parks. =
He is
a retired Forester from Pennsylvania. His programs are very =
informative,
though I would not say he is schooled in our methodology. His material =
may
not be restricted to Florida, with the exception of the one about =
visiting
state parks. I will let him know I shared this message with ya'll for =
your
consideration. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Dear Joe,

=20

I am seeking your advice about locating a Florida State Park in which to
volunteer my interpretive skills this winter. Presently, I have =
prepared
five slide programs on plant life and I also have an additional slide =
program
entitled "A Visit to Some Florida State Parks." =20

=20

The other titles are:

=20

"Stories of the Florida Wildflowers I -- Herbaceous Plants"

=20

"Stories of the Florida Wildflowers II -- Woody Plants"

=20

"Stories of the North American Wildflowers - Origins of Their Names, Old
Flower Customs, and Curious Uses by Native Americans and Early =
Settlers." =20

=20

"The Invaders, the Dangers of Alien Plants, Animals and Insects and =
their
Effects on the Future of Our Environment" (This program spotlights =
many
plants, animals and insects found in Florida.)

=20

"Wonderful Wildflowers" -- a program for children ages 4 - 12 =
(approximately)

=20

The problem with locating a state park is that we need a site for our RV =
with
full hookups, electric, water, and sewer; or holding tanks pumped out on =
a
regular basis. Also, we have a pet (a well-mannered, old Border =
collie). Do
you know anything about Topsail Hill Preserve and Rainbow Springs State =
Park?
As I understand, one has full hookups, the other has some full hookups.

=20

My bad knee has slowed me down some (I literally wore it out), but I =
would
still be able to give short, interpretative walks of reasonable =
distance.

=20

I imagine you already know this, but in case you don't, the Journal of
Forestry ran an article, "Hot Tips: Fire Information at Your =
Fingertips."
That article listed seven fire-related programs which are detailed on =
the
University of Florida's cooperative extension website:
www.ifas.uf.edu/www/extension/ces.htm

=20

Mary and I extend best wishes to you in your new position, and we hope =
that
you and your family are doing fine. =20

=20

Sincerely,

=20

Al Huber=20
