Check out the product testing website that some Boston hospitals put
together after testing hundreds of products for mercury content. It is
an interactive site that invites others to input their testing data.
=20
http://www.masco.org/mercury/ explains the work of the mercury work
group. Click on mercury products database from there. MASCO is an
organization that serves Beth Israel, Brigham and Women's and Deaconness
hospitals.
=20
Part of any project to reduce mercury should be telling suppliers they
must deliver mercury-free products. The language should be in contracts
and specifications. Testing can be required or be done by the
recipient, but if there's language in the contract to rely on tests
showing the presence of mercury can trigger contract cancellations or
penalties. =20

Hello. I am working on putting together policies and procedures
requiring the minimization of the use of mercury and the use of mercury
containing products within city facilities. Central to this, I am
looking for specific purchasing policies & procedures for flourescent
lamps. Also, if you have any back up data, cost-benefit analysis,
option data...

Thank you in advance for your time, I do appreciate it.
