Please don't panic based on this news. They exposed the cells directly to the fish extract - many EDCs, such as phthalates, would break down when ingested. Unless you're rubbing the fish on your private parts (ok, so some kinky folks may do this), your exposure would be greatly lessened.

Does it strike anyone else as ironic that all the efforts to reduce
disease by collecting and treating human waste, now may have further
repercussions that threaten not only aquatic creatures, but humans. 
Outhouses, anyone??
