[Pharmwaste] unused medicine disposal deputizing process

Some years ago when I looked into this in Maine I was told that there
would be 60 some odd hours of training required, time at the Law
Enforcement Academy and that nationwide there were major efforts to get
out of the "Sherrif's badge for a political donation" approach. The
article is leaving out some detail..can anyone fill in. For what it is
worth for those of us holding a Federal DEA license I have been told
that rules around that trump local deputization, I'd be interested in
hearing further explanation...
