[Pharmwaste] Do Flush list?

I'm sure, like the EPA, the DEA is "streamlining" their regs to make
them easier on the end user. Their "streamlined" rules may be 10 years
till promulgation but, something is surely being kicked around "on the
hill".

Isn't there someone on this listserve (like an undercover DEA agent who
now has Tom's IP address and bugged his phone under the Patriot Act) who
can link us to EPA's/DEA's latest discussions on this issue? Sure seems
I heard not long ago, EPA and the DEA were actually talking to each
other about this issue.

This will no doubt get me on some Federal watch list or something like
that but.....

Does it not seem incredibly silly to have such a big issue come down to
the DEA wanting to control controlled substances coming back for proper
management when its a safe bet any of us could visit a major city and
purchase some kind of controlled substance from a very uncontrolled
source?

yes there are possibly people who work in pharmacy's who may
misappropriate controlled substances but I'd guess thats such an
astronomically small number that the trade offs between damaging the
planet versus the possible theft aren't even close. Its not like they
can't already get the same material in a cleaner form if they wanted it
so why is taking some back that may not be all that safe to take be such
a huge new temptation for them? Because you know if you were say
profiling a population for likely criminal activity, I'd be focusing
immediately on a group that has these traits: college educated, hard
working, tax paying professionals who work in a field where they
participate actively in caring for the sick...now thats a group of
people I'd immediately assume would be needing close watch.

Unless the DEA has some sudden new program to eradicate all illegal drug
activity, perhaps its time for them to stop being so difficult to work
with on this topic and show some leadership?
